The Best is Yet to Come

Happy Friday! Today is a special post for a few reasons. A) I adore this dress and B) I am celebrating my graduation! First things first…

This yellow dress from Maggy London is unique on so many levels! Not only is it bright yellow (which I don’t wear too often) and has a really beautiful flower print, but also is an extremely modest length — making it perfect for more formal occasions, like a wedding guest or brunch. Sometimes no matter my intentions, dresses tend to be short on me because I am on the taller side (about 5’6). However, this dress is also available for petite girls, which I love. Be sure to see the entire Maggy London collection.. you won’t be disappointed.

Maggy-London-2 Maggy-London-3 Maggy-London-4 Maggy-London-5 Maggy-London-6Tomorrow, I will be graduating from Kent State University with my Applied Communications degree and two minors in Media Literacy and Public Communication. It has been a long (but short.. does that make sense?) four years, and I am so happy I can leave with no regrets. If I could sum up my college career in a paragraph, I would have to say that, more than anything, I learned. But I learned so much more than public speaking and how to conduct research. Most importantly, I learned about myself as a person. I constantly pushed my own limits. I tested my abilities to work under pressure, maintain relationships, and find  work/life balance. I found out what kind of people I wanted in my life. I reflected on what and who I want to be one day and how I could get there. I had a lot of mental breakdowns (mainly in my graphic design class.. anyone else?), but always picked myself right back up with the help of my friends. I learned how to “suck it up” and channel my frustration into motivation. So yes, while I will graduate with a degree, I am leaving Kent State with so much more. I am leaving with a deep appreciation for the people I have in my life, the knowledge that every negative experience has a silver lining, and eagerness to continue to grow into the person version of myself I can be.

Happy graduation, Class of 2015. You made it. :)

I love this post-you’re so right one of the main things you learn in college is not your degree but about yourself! Your dress is ADORABLE and your cap is so cute and spring-y! Congratulations, go and celebrate you deserve it!

Congratulations on graduating! I actually reflected upon my own graduation and how far I’ve come the other day because it’s been three years since I marched across the stage! Also I absolutely love your cap, we have very strict rules about decorating and it was promised that we would be removed if we had them, so it was a no go for me.

    Congrats again!

Congrats on graduating! There so many great things to come for you! I love what you did with your graduation cap. Our class wasn’t allowed to decorate ours. I was so sad!
