One of the biggest topics right now in the fashion industry is body image and its impact on consumers. As young women, we are all doused with messages from the moment we wake up to “be” a certain way. This doesn’t really come in forms of “hey, you — be this way.” It comes in form of societal norms, advertisements, images we see — which then subconsciously become our idea of beauty. We may not even realize what is happening from a day-to-day basis, but the overall impact is greatly felt. Someone needed to step up, and I am so happy to be talking about that company today: Aerie.

I admired what Aerie was doing from the beginning, and was so excited when they contacted me to join the conversation. Aerie has vowed to stop retouching their models, a huge step to define the “ideal” body in today’s society. As a blogger, it is extremely important to me to work with companies that match my values and run an ethical business. I always research a company before I agree to work with them. What do they stand for? What have they done in the past? How do they treat their customers?

This holiday season, and every season, I encourage you to visit Aerie and consider the movement they are creating to help young women feel more confident. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pieces from Aerie that are perfect for the holiday season. Buy them as a gift, buy them for yourself, and spread the word about this amazing campaign.

Happy Shopping!

Aerie sent the featured floral leggings free of charge for my own personal review. I was not compensated to write this post or endorse Aerie. I truly believe in the companies I work with, and would never advocate for something I didn’t fully support. Thanks for reading. xo

I absolutely love the direction in which Aerie is choosing to go with their brand. If only more companies would follow suit. And, of course, it doesn’t hurt that they have so many cute things those beautiful models can rock!
